I know my weakness; I know my pain,
The heartbreak and the sadness,
The heart's cry and the madness,
Spells of anger and souls with despair,
All my strength gone with longings in vain.
Tried everything in pain and surrendered, that nothing can be mine,
Until He works—not for my gain but to His will—was my cry!
In quietness and stillness, I learned my strength should lie.
But it was hard for me to learn, and I tried every time.
"Teach me, Lord, to sustain," I sighed.
The Lord said, "Surrender, child, even the hard work you tried.
Be still; take My strength. Be still," He cried!
