Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Such a great promise this year – God reminded me again today of this verse: "The Egyptians you see today, you will never see again" – what a great promise and assurance it gives.
What is your "Egyptian" today? There might be anything that you are facing in day-to-day life. Your anger, selfish ambitions, jealousy, pride, or even nagging worries can be the Egyptians you are struggling with. God looks at you and says to you that you will see them no more. The second phrase of this verse tells us that God will fight for you. And you have to be only still. You don't have to fight the battle or struggle with making things right or bringing things to peace by yourself. There is a God who will fight for you, and you have to leave to Him everything that worries you and that you are struggling with. Just be still.
This is one of the greatest commandments that God gave me when I was worrying and struggling in my life to solve unwanted issues and worries. That's when God asked me to stay quiet and mind my own business, assuring me that He would take care of it. I need to shut up and sit quietly and watch God doing things for me in His amazing ways. Isaiah 30 says, "In quietness and trust lies your strength" (Isaiah 30:15). This passage and the entire chapter were the promise verses God gave me this year, sharing the same concept.
